Transfer to Sigiriya

Day 5

Sigiriya – Rock Fortress & Polonnaruwa

This morning, climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Marvel at the ancient frescoes and
panoramic views from the top. In the afternoon, your chauffeur-guide will take you

Day 6

Sigiriya – Wildlife Safari

Venture into either Minneriya National Park, or the nearby Eco Park (season permitting).
Watch elephants, monkeys, deer, buffalo and more in their natural habitat, while over 150 bird species flit through the trees. Return to your hotel for a relaxing evening.

Day 7

Transfer to Nuwara Eliya via Kandy (Botanical Gardens & Temple of the Tooth)

After breakfast, depart from Habarana for your journey to Nuwara Eliya, a scenic drive of
approximately 4.5 hours. En route, stop in Kandy to visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth;
this remarkable Buddhist temple is where the relic of Buddha's Tooth is kept. Continue
towards Nuwara Eliya, taking in the beautiful vistas of tea plantations and tea factories
along the way. Upon arrival, check into your hotel, unwind, and end the day with dinner.

Day 8

Nuwara Eliya (Pekoe Trail Hike)

Today you will head out to trek part of the Pekoe Trail, a hiking trail that threads through
around 300 km of Sri Lanka's hill country. You will explore a section with your local guide
this morning, taking you across the gardens, villages and tea plantations of Nuwara Eliya, also known as 'Little England' for its legacy of British Colonial Influence. Relax this afternoon at your charming bungalow.

Nuwara Eliya to Ella Via Train and drive to Yala

Transfer to Galle via Udawalawe

Transfer to Galle via Udawalawe Today you travel to the southwest coast of Sri Lanka,
passing Udawalawe National Park. Stop for a game drive and visit the Elephant Transit Centre, where orphaned or unwell elephants receive care before being released back into the wild. Arrive in Ahangama or Galle and check into your beachfront hotel.

Hiyare Bird Sanctuary
