Day 1

Nairobi Arrival

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, a Rustic Africa Safaris representative greets you and transfers you to Pride Inn Azure Nairobi Hotel. Spend the afternoon at leisure, relaxing and preparing for the adventure ahead.

Day 2

Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, drive south to Amboseli, the land of sweeping savannahs and majestic views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Arrive in time for lunch and a short rest before setting out on an afternoon game drive in search of the park’s famous elephant herds. Dinner and overnight at Sentrim Amboseli Lodge.

Day 3

Amboseli Game Drives

Spend a full day exploring Amboseli, whose name means “salty dust” in Maasai. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives to spot elephants, lions, cheetahs and a variety of birdlife. Optional activities include a Maasai village visit or tree-planting experience. All meals and overnight at Sentrim Amboseli Lodge.

Day 4

Amboseli to Lake Naivasha

Depart after an early breakfast for Lake Naivasha, arriving for lunch at Muthu Lake Naivasha Country Club. In the afternoon take a boat ride across the lake and enjoy a guided walk on Crescent Island, home to giraffe, antelope and abundant bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 5

Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast drive to Lake Nakuru, enjoying a game drive as you enter the park. This soda lake is renowned for flamingos, rhinos and more than 450 bird species. An afternoon game drive offers chances to see lions, buffalo and other wildlife. Overnight at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge.

Day 6

Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Travel west to the legendary Maasai Mara, famous for its high density of wildlife and the annual wildebeest migration. Arrive for lunch, relax, then venture out on an evening game drive across the endless plains. Dinner and overnight at Sentrim Mara Lodge.

After an early breakfast, carry picnic lunches and drive to the Isebania border. After clearing customs, meet your Tanzanian guide and continue into the Serengeti. A game drive en route brings you to Serengeti Heritage Tented Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 10

Central Serengeti

Spend a full day discovering the vast Serengeti, Africa’s most celebrated wildlife sanctuary. Look for lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, elephants and large migrating herds. Return to camp for dinner and a night under the African stars.

Day 11

Serengeti to Ngorongoro via Olduvai Gorge

Journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a fascinating stop at Olduvai Gorge, the cradle of humankind, and a visit to a Maasai boma to learn about their traditions. Continue to Bougainvillea Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12

Ngorongoro Crater Safari

Descend early into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” for unmatched wildlife viewing. Spot black rhino, lions, wildebeest, zebras and hippos while enjoying a picnic lunch on the crater floor. Return to Marera Valley Lodge for dinner.

Day 13

Tarangire National Park

Drive to Tarangire, a park famed for its giant baobabs and huge elephant herds. Enjoy an extensive game drive and picnic lunch while watching giraffes, buffalo and predators that follow the herds. Dinner and overnight at Sangaiwe Tented Lodge.
